The AAS 109 Gaseous Sampling Attachment is designed for simultaneous sampling of any four gaseous pollutants present in ambient air. In sampler air is bubbled through specific reagents kept in impingers where gaseous pollutants like SO2, NO2, NH3, and O3 get absorbed. Later collected samples can be analyzed for specific pollutants as per standard wet chemistry methods prescribed by BIS.

AAS 109 is an attachment for Respirable Dust Sampler. Small suction (upto 3lpm) of the sampler pump is connected to manifold of the attachment from where it is connected to outlet of the impinger. Suction is controlled though provided four needle valves to set desired flow rate (0.3 to 3 lpm).

Cabinet of attachment is powder coated thus even if some absorbing reagent spills on it corrosion is not expected. Ice tray is made up of molded fiber sheet with PUF packed on the walls. Silicon tubing is used for interconnection. Impingers fitted in the sampler are of standard design as prescribed by BIS 5182(Part6)2006.
