The AAS 109 Gaseous Sampling Attachment is designed for
simultaneous sampling of four gaseous pollutants present in
ambient air. In sampler air is bubbled through specific
reagents kept in impingers where gaseous pollutants like
SO2, NO2, NH3, and O3 get absorbed. Later collected
samples can be analyzed for specific pollutants as per
standard wet chemistry methods prescribed by BIS.
AAS 109 is an attachment having inbuilt small pump which
run on the controlled power taken from main sampler (PM2.5
Or Combo Sampler) for which this attachment has been
designed. Suction of the pump fitted in attachment is
connected to manifold of AAS 109 from where it is connected
to outlet of the impinger. Suction is controlled though
provided four needle valves to set desired air flow rate (upto
3 lpm) for bubbling in impinger reagents (as per standard
method requirements).
Cabinet of attachment is powder coated where if some
corrosive absorbing reagent spills on it corrosion is not
expected. Ice tray is made up of moulded fiber sheet with
PUF packed on the walls. Silicon tubing is used for
interconnection. Impingers are of standard design as prescribed by BIS.
